Terms and Conditions

Serenity Neonatal Clinic is a branch of Serenity RN LTD and is a private service provider and as such services are privately funded. Therefore, none of our services are NHS funded meaning we are not affiliated with any NHS trust, and we are able to offer support to parents from all over the north-west and midlands.

Our team are registered neonatal nurses who adhere to the NMC code of practice and have a responsibility to safeguard the wellbeing of you and your baby. If you attend any of our classes or clinics and we have any health concerns based on our nursing experience and assessment, you may be advised to seek a review from your GP, contact 111 for more urgent review or in the case of an emergency we would call an ambulance for emergency care. As a private service we cannot refer you directly onwards for any tests or specialist appointments required, this would need to be requested by your GP.

We cannot access the hospital records of you or your baby, therefore are unable to comment on or discuss any maternity, birth, postnatal care, or neonatal care that you or your baby have received, any questions you have regarding this should be directed to the hospital trust in which you received your care. Due to this it is also vital that you are as thorough as possible when sharing the birth/medical history of your baby prior to receiving any treatment form us as this will ensure any treatment is safe and appropriate. It is your responsibility to share this information with Serenity Neonatal Clinic, and Serenity Neonatal Clinic reserve the right to refuse treatment where a full history cannot be obtained, or the treatment is deemed inappropriate for any reason. Serenity Neonatal Clinic accepts no liability for false or omitted information about your baby’s medical history. We request that you bring any discharge letters/ medical letters and your baby’s red book to your appointment to assist with this. You are responsible for giving full and accurate information to the practitioner and making them aware of any changes to your baby’s health.

Serenity Neonatal Clinic is a well-baby support service, if you have any concerns about your baby’s immediate health or wellbeing you must seek the advice of your GP or health visitor. We may advise that you seek an appointment or review with your health visitor or GP, if we do, we expect that you will do this in a timely manner. It remains your responsibility to seek this medical review and failure to follow our advice will potentially lead to a safeguarding concern being raised as per our safeguarding policy, and you will be removed from our booking system and unable to book any future appointments. The safety and wellbeing of your baby is our upmost priority, and if we deem it necessary that you seek further support either as routine or an emergency, then we request as part of your agreement of service that you follow our instructions, as failure to do so could lead to significant harm.

Abuse

We have a zero-tolerance abuse policy at Serenity Neonatal Clinic, we will not tolerate any abusive behaviour towards team members or other parents of any kind, if this occurs then you will be asked to leave immediately and removed from the booking system and unable to return. Any abuse that is physical in nature or breeches the law in any other way i.e. homophobia, will be referred to the police, we may also instigate safeguarding concerns in line with our safeguarding policy.
